The Beginners Guide to Meditation
Becoming present to the moment.
Meditation is one of the simplest and most effective tools for calming the mind, reducing stress, and finding inner balance. There is no “right” way of meditating. This is a guide to help you make your first steps with confidence. To start find a comfortable spot you can sit cross-legged or with your feet flat on the ground.- whatever feels natural and allows your spine to be straight. Close your eyes and soften your gaze. Focus on your breath- maybe even say to yourself, “breathing in, breathing out”. Notice when your mind wonders . It is normal for your mind to drift. When it does, gently bring your focus back to your breath without judgement. Continue this for 5-15 minutes or as long as you like. Before you get up, take a moment to thank yourself for taking this time to care for your well-being.
